Greetings, Rocksmith fans!
Today’s clue has been solved, and while one artist has been confirmed in this mixed singles four-pack, we have few clues to go on as to what the other three are.
That’s right, the highly-requested Edgar Winter instrumental Frankenstein, whose music video possibly invented the act of wearing of a keyboard around one’s neck like a guitar, is coming to Rocksmith in the first non-themed DLC pack of highly requested Singles. If you thought the Love Singles hint was vague, get ready to start guessing all weekend for this one, although Dan did mention one other hint:
Given the hundreds of artists to choose from, it’s not likely any one of us will pick the correct one, much less the correct song. And since this is a compilation of singles that were all highly requested, your guess is quite literally as good as mine as to what they are.
So what are we going to see next Tuesday? Since we will be seeing one song from an artist already represented in-game, perhaps the Riff Repeater editors could give their own ideas:

The Who: Eminence Front
Of course it isn’t that likely, but it’s one of my most requested songs on Rocksmith. With one of John Entwistle’s best basslines on offer and an intricate guitar line courtesy of Townsend (both live and on the studio version), I was hoping this song would come with the original Who pack from last year. Here’s hoping for a second Who pack in the near future if this isn’t the case.

Silversun Pickups: Lazy Eye
One of the alt rock favorite’s more popular tracks, the Silversun Pickups have been missing in action since the first Rocksmith title. While the band has been featured in many music games over the years, both as disc songs and DLC, they’ve stayed suspiciously away from the real guitar limelight. Could this be the first we see of them again, or will be waiting for a whole pack?

The Clash: Rock the Casbah
I have a degree in Rocksmithology that I made in Photoshop and printed off myself so it is in my expert opinion that the Clash pack we received back in 2013 was criminally only made up of 3 songs. Great songs, sure, but any fan of the band knows it only scratched the surface of what they have to offer. So why not offer up a single, the band’s highest charting single mind you, to tide us over until the inevitable Clash #02 pack? I also suggest Rebel Yell by Billy Idol or Le Freak by Chic as the single but was limited to only one pick. Except I’ve sort of bent that rule by mentioning them here. Don’t tell Elliot!

Jimi Hendrix: All Along The Watchtower
A highly requested single that may not have made the cut in time for the 12 pack in December? Maybe Oscar is onto something. Besides, Rock Band got it.

Highly requested single from an artist already in Rocksmith? Ok, well I know what I’d pick and I hope I’m right! Keeps with the Guitar Hero theme at the very least.

The Scorpions is my dream DLC, although I would prefer a pack. Unfortunately they have never been in any music games. Not sure why. I know they are pretty protective of their songs on Youtube and such, but as people they seem pretty down to earth.

all asmade by famous are cover in ghero… scorpions would be awesome butid love a 5 pack but not the usual scorpions some other … for sure i dlike rock you like ..still loving you , but im leaving , we ll burn the sky , arizona , alien nation , rythym of love , the zoo , dynamite , restless night , don’t believe her .. and so many more , some schenker group , some ufo it miss that kind of guitar in rocksmith . and if one of the two unusual animal is def leppard please stay in pyromnia or hysteria ( need a five pack…. two whole album..:) /) bowie could make sense with i love rock n roll since they say its a 70 -80 so we might get two song per decade.. hocus pocus like the guys says up could be very fun……id say we need some buckethead too but im aint gonna waste my time posting 1000000 time three song per recommendation and hear that next week dlc is king of leon or justin bieber , im happy as long as they have guitar in , i mean real guitar ( guitar can exist in pop song but they rare …and by guitar i dont mean behemoth , disturbed or some thing like that for me aint really fun to play beside they get boring after playing them 5 times .. because i dont use the pratice mode im going all in each times its way more fun playing on the moment . sure you can pratice to nails some hardcore part but beside the two handed tapping on 2 or 3 song almost all the song in rocksmith are naileable in 2 to 5 time only by playing in pratice a song… Read more »
if you think im crazy then just learn to play after 2 years you can be very good ( not playing buckethead , randy rhoads , alexei laiho, van halen , george lynch , m-a batio , satrini , the list can be write for a year or more , all i want is some fun song too play , i recently bought dlc and i need to get another ps card for cause i didnt take anthrax , all that remain , thin lizzy and if im looking they may be way more to buy .. please make me a gift by never adding kings of leon and u2 , they may be more but those two id be happy no gotye and mumford and sons. Guitar explode from 50 to end of 80 for sure they re alot of band you can take song from in any genre … maybe not the poor one i know im sorry 🙂 ( yes , i know it exist some band that are good over 90 but its under 20 % maybe less and the feeling in those song are just not the same , hope to have some good song to play at least 1 week on 4 i can have something , sometimes not but i still go a library with some good song thank you for that, its like playing with my guitar pro 6 with a larger screen.. and in color and with scoreattack i can count points! and i know i cant kill ducks on guit pro 6…
Although that was written by Meine/Schenker/Rarebell which makes me think they had to sign off on it. They probably didn’t want to give up the stems though. Maybe that crap cover has something to do with why they don’t like music games.

Okay my 2 cents.
I thought it rather strange last year that we got a pack from Tom Petty that did not include RUNNIN DOWN A DREAM.
Along those same lines, we have songs by Dylan and songs by Hendrix, yet strangely ALL ALONG THE WATCHTOWER didn’t make the cut.
Lastly, and I’ve hinted at this before. There are certain songs that seem almost asinine to have absent in any situation like this. Songs like Johnny B. Goode, Satisfaction, Wild Thing, Sweet Home Chicago, Iron Man, and anything by either Elvis or Aerosmith.
The ELEPHANT in the room here is I LOVE ROCK N ROLL by Joan Jett. How do we not have that yet? That’s like the “Video Killed the Radio Star” of rock songs. Either that or Chuck Berry should have started this whole Rocksmith thing off. It has my vote.
I would love I Love Rock And Roll, it would be cool to have some easy songs.
If we get Johnny B Goode, I hope it’s the George Thorogood version…

These kinds of packs would be awesome if they were released every once in a while. Nothing like random variety, so there’s something for everyone. I would love to see Watchtower and some more Mastodon too. I know a lot of people are tired of metal, but I personally can’t get enough of it!
I definitely want moar Mastodon also. Watchtower would be extremely welcome as well. I would love to see some Cynic, Atheist, or Death in game.
