Speculation: Rocksmith gets Extremely 80s next week

Hello Rocksmith fans!

@DanAmrich’s clue has been posted and solved and it looks like we are getting another track from @ExtremeBand!

Let’s take a look at this week’s clue!

A bit too fast for you? Here…

RollingStone222 was all over this one…

It seems like they’re all referring to games and toys.

Barbie
GI Joe
Ring around the Rosie
Hide and Seek
etc.

Shortly after that, they had the answer

It’s an 80s Mix Pack!

It’s an 80s Flashback indeed…

What other two songs could be in the mix? Well, if we are going by a certain Guitar Hero game, I’m hoping this one shows up. Dan, did say that not all the songs are metal.

Or maybe…

Are you excited for Play With Me? What other songs would make this 80s Mix Pack a must buy? Let us know!

That song is just terrible. It really should have died in the 80’s. Nuno is a beast, too bad he was in Extreme

Play With Me was in my top ten list of songs I wanted for Rocksmith. Gonna happily scratch that one off. And yeah, I’m totally an 80s fan. Can’t wait to see what other two songs come out.

Yes! I love 80’s music. Except for hair metal and 80’s adult contemporary

Just out of curiosity, did you happen to watch the above video of Extreme playing Play With Me? Its extremely intricate; it looks harder than both Disturbed and Black Label Society. You may be surprised by it. I certainly was.

My completely random guesses:

Toto -- Africa
The Knack -- Another Lousy Day in Paradise
Knight Ranger -- Sister Christian
Poison -- Talk Dirty to Me
Tears for Fears -- Everybody Wants to Rule the World or Shout
The Police -- Every Little Thing She Does is Magic
Dead or Alive -- You Spin Me Round (Like A Record)
Blondie -- Atomic
King’s X -- Over My Head
Dexy’s Midnight Runners -- Come One Eileen
Echo and the Bunnymen -- The Killing Moon

Or maybe this is when we finally see The Jam make their debut?

So many ways to go right, but also so many ways to get it wrong.

I would love to see more Living Colour, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and The Pixies

One confirmed song is indeed by Judas Priest, if what I have just seen from the official Rocksmith page is anything to go by (the picture was clearly the album cover for “Screaming for Vengeance”, from which existing DLC song “You’ve Got Another Thing Comin’” came…)

After some one gets the clue that it’s a mix tape wish Dan would give mini clues for each song.80s pack could be good I was released in the eighties n I’m great but maybe a little dated with awful fashion sense and every day’s a bad hair day

18 and Life -- Skid Row
Play With Me -- Extreme
Lonely Is The Night -- Billy Squier
Finally we get some REAL Extreme, none of that More Than Words garbage. Nuno at his finest, while i’d personally like a 3-pack (more specifically Mutha (I Don’t Wanna Go To School Today), Get the Funk Out, and He-Man Woman Hater) this is definatly one i’ll pick up.

If we have to have Extreme, I’ll take TRRs wishlist 3-pack as presented!!!

(and then cherry pick the good new-wave songs)

I guessed Turning Japanese for one of the earlier Hits packs, and Dan came back and said that he wished, but apparently he and I were the only ones who had requested the Vapors.

With any luck, these songs don’t necessarily have to be straight from the bands that did them because I think the covers for Cars by Fear Factory and Orgy’s Blue Monday would be solid additions to the library.

Fear Factory, yes please. Any track but Cars however. That was an abomination that should never have been released on the Obsolete Digipack. A prime example of record company cash grab.

Here’s a brilliant concept album, where everything fits the narrative perfectly -- but it isn’t selling as well as we want (at the time, already out selling previous FF albums) so lets add a crappy, radio friendly cover and release it against the bands wishes.

Play With Me is gonna freaking shred. Anything that Nuno Bettencourt does is just epic.
