It’s been a while since we got a new Rocksmith game, hasn’t it? Well, that looks like it’s all about to change soon. Sort of. Eagle-eyed Reddit user Sorkwelin discovered the image above on the Rocksmith website which looks to indicate that an updated version of Rocksmith 2014 is coming to current-gen consoles and PC.
This was officially confirmed later, along with some more details about what Rocksmith 2014 Remastered actually is. Let’s take a look at all the new information:
- Rocksmith 2014 Remastered is not a new Rocksmith game but rather a major update to Rocksmith 2014.
- If you already own Rocksmith 2014 on ANY platform (360 and PS3 included) you will recieve the update for free.
- The library sorting features are being updated with a new Search feature that will allow you to type in what you’re looking for in Learn a Song, Score Attack, and the Shop.
- Nonstop Play will now allow you to create custom playlists.
- Riff Repeater navigation has been made much smoother.
- You can now view all song arrangements in the new Song Hub meaning you don’t need to change paths anymore.
- Nonstop Play can now be filtered by tunings and you can switch arrangements between songs.
- The rate of Dynamic Difficulty can now be adjusted or removed altogether.
- You can view detailed in-game statistics about your playing.
In addition, six new songs will be available as part of Rocksmith 2014 Remastered. They are as follows:
- Bob Marley & the Wailers – Three Little Birds
- Elvis Presley – Suspicious Minds
- fun. – Some Nights
- The Jackson 5 – I Want You Back
- OutKast – Hey Ya!
- Train – Drops of Jupiter
If you’re buying the physical disc version of Rocksmith 2014 Remastered then you’ll receive a voucher to download these songs for free. If you’ve already purchased Rocksmith 2014 then these songs will be available to purchase the same week that Rocksmith 2014 Remastered is released in retail stores. Rocksmith 2014 Remastered is going to launch in October, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for when the update goes live!

Well they have to pay for the new game, so I'm cool with it.
There are a lot of things I liked about the original rocksmith that I was hoping would return such as the playback of your performance at the end of the song. I also liked the "game" format. I liked playing songs to unlock more songs and build a following.
How about additional lessons? A possible expansion? The option is there why not utilize it?
Bummer … was kind of hoping there would be a Rocksmith 2017 out this year or something… though I guess there really is no need for a new game right? Just update the note detection and some of the things that they stated here. (and I'm really not that fussed about not getting those 6 songs fo rfree either) … Still love the game…. though I do miss the discount sales on songs they used to do on the original Rocksmith (I've spent a small fortune lol).
In the Midnite hour they cried more more more. Funny my RS2014 already lets me do custom play list for continuous play. And we always like more songs. Never had to change paths in 2012.
Russ DiMartino did you read the article? If you already have rocksmith 2014 then you don't get the songs for free…
They don't. It will be a free update for current owners of ths game.
I've been waiting five years for this fucking update for a search bar, FINALLY
I think its pretty unfair that previous owners of Rocksmith 2014 have to pay for those new songs!
Hey, not bad, only took them 5 years to figure out they had one of the worst navigation/menu setups in gaming history.
I was just listening to suspicious minds the other day at the grocery store and I was thinking that I would love to learn the guitar riff for the song! Also, Drops of Jupiter … Does this mean a keyboard expansion in the future?
Doubtful
Could imagine something like that would warrant a different type of game since the main focus of Rocksmith was for Guitar/Bass.
Seems like that type of thing would warrant a different team of people making a new IP not related to Rocksmith.
No plans for keyboard or drums. Our strength is in guitar and bass.
Any plans to expand the mic options? I love to sing and play guitar/bass.

Idk if I’ll like it really…. Like it won’t really effect anything I do except searching
Haha true but still a nice feature

Remember it’s all speculation by the author
Not a stretch at all, we already got Regulate by Warren G in the game, but it has a typo and for some reason it’s listed as I keep forgetting … apparently they can’t remember the song title
Michael McDonald – Keep Forgettin
WOW. That’s like… every significant complaint I have had about the game, addressed. All at once.
Nice that they’re taking care of their customers. I’ve bought 14 for both 360/one.as well as the original.
Is there a difference between the one and 360 version?
No. I just got sick of switching between the two consoles. Plus the 1 version was deeply discounted a month or so ago and I figured it’d be nice to have another cable incase one went out on me.
I have RS14 on steam, xbox one, xbox 360, and PS3
Would’ve happily paid for that update, but free is always nice 🙂
Damn. Those new DLC songs are pretty sweet too.
well it’s about friggen time!!!!
I just have to say…
BOB!!!!!!!
FREAKING!!!!!!!
MARLEY!!!!!!!
Love this, also ELVIS at last.
A guitarcade game for sweep picking would have been great.
Jonas free update with songs yusss
Cool that’s free for PS3 users

Yeah, comments that say nothing sure are boring.
