It’s been a while since we got a new Rocksmith game, hasn’t it? Well, that looks like it’s all about to change soon. Sort of. Eagle-eyed Reddit user Sorkwelin discovered the image above on the Rocksmith website which looks to indicate that an updated version of Rocksmith 2014 is coming to current-gen consoles and PC.
This was officially confirmed later, along with some more details about what Rocksmith 2014 Remastered actually is. Let’s take a look at all the new information:
- Rocksmith 2014 Remastered is not a new Rocksmith game but rather a major update to Rocksmith 2014.
- If you already own Rocksmith 2014 on ANY platform (360 and PS3 included) you will recieve the update for free.
- The library sorting features are being updated with a new Search feature that will allow you to type in what you’re looking for in Learn a Song, Score Attack, and the Shop.
- Nonstop Play will now allow you to create custom playlists.
- Riff Repeater navigation has been made much smoother.

- Nonstop Play can now be filtered by tunings and you can switch arrangements between songs.
- The rate of Dynamic Difficulty can now be adjusted or removed altogether.
- You can view detailed in-game statistics about your playing.
In addition, six new songs will be available as part of Rocksmith 2014 Remastered. They are as follows:
- Bob Marley & the Wailers – Three Little Birds

Rocksmith 2014 Remastered is going to launch in October, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for when the update goes live!

Joseph McMirra I'm guessing that wouldn't be something Rocksmith would do since their main focus is guitar and bass. Seems like that would warrant it's own game.
i wonder is japan is getting any songs nd we might get them later. more one ok rock!
Ortez Jacob no for e-drum kits,http://www.kraftmusic.com/roland-td-25k-v-drums-electronic-drum-set-drum-essentials-bundle.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=merchant&utm_campaign=rol-td25ksde&gclid=CPzpkPHArc4CFQ6LaQodBJwD9g
Maybe we would have lost some songs…. Like what happen with RS1 to RS 2014.
We lost:
Eric Clapton “Run Back To Your Side”
Cream “Sunshine of Your Love”
Seth Chapla “Jules”
Seth Chapla “Star Spangled Banner”
Chris Lee “Boss”
This is awesome news. Has anyone here taken the Rocksmith Poll at Rocksmith Connect ? Rocksmith Connect wants to help connect Rocskmith Players in the same city or towns to hangout and jam!
I was also a fan of the playback… and the audience feedback
I'm guessing their main dev team is working on South Park at the moment so most expansions would be light on resources at this stage. The post on their ubisoft forum said one of the note trackers was able to change certain aspects of the game that didn't require much work from the dev team.
With their current note tracking team lessons may not be viable since they probably want to keep enough padding in their dlc so they are able to put a new one out every week. Would be a cool idea though.
You mean like Rockband?, just not sure what people actually mean by this, like a plastic drum kit?
I'm guessing they wouldn't have seperate games for that as it would push the game itself into quite a niche field that not may not have as many sales as just doing a dlc release every week. There is Country and Blues stuff on there already, will have to dig through the library of available songs to find it though.
Love what this update has to offer, and REALLY loving that it's free for those that already own it. Can't wait to see it!
Cédric Schneider
Thomas Andres We'll probably never see separate track as that would mean relicensing everything to get stems file which some of the song don't have available anymore and RB4 is doing some nasty thing to the audio to avoid people ripping of the precious stems…
Most of the dev team is on South Park so there's no way that studio could have put out another game this year as the team is still smallish.
So you're still playing RS1?
Playback was probably my favorite feature. I would also like to see more statistics on the songs I play.
No. I would think you'd only get the update on a platform you already own. You'll qualify for the update on PS3. PS3 and PS4 are different platforms for the software. The update is free, not the core game for a different platform.
HAS ANYONE THOUGHT ABOUT JAZZSMITH, BLUES SMITH OR COUNTRY SMITH NOT THAT I CARE MUCH FOR COUNTRY BUT JAZZ OR BLUES GUITAR MAY BE FUN OR EVEN IF WE HAD A LITTLE MORE IN ROCKSMITH.
Let me get this straight… I've bought Rocksmith 2014 for the Playstation 3, and soon I will be able to download an upgraded version for the Playstation 4, for free? Is that correct? Good stuff, if it really is so 🙂
This is awsome news. You can get the game so cheap right now, i paied like 10€ on the Canadian PSN and they are still suporting it instead of pushing out a new 60€ game.
Would also love to be able to have separate tracks. Turn off every track but the drums and try playing that way. How about letting me export the drum track so I can take it to a friends house and practice because there is never a drummer around when you need one. Don't forget about karaoke! Turn of the vocals and and a mic and see how in tune you can sing. Yeah it can be better.
Would love more lessons! Want to play scales up and down the neck.
Sean Arteaga that would be as amazing as when the original rocksmith came out
That would be great for guitar and drums at same time.
Would love a rocksmith drums
Zachariah Brown I'm guessing the licenses for those songs wouldn't be cheap either.
