Rocksmith Remastered DLC 4/11/2017 – Variety Pack IX

Hello Rocksmith fans!

This week’s DLC is Variety Pack IX! We have two returning artists in the form of virtuoso guitarist @chickenfootjoe with Surfing with the Alien, and frat-Reggae rock staples 311 with a song that really should have been in the first packAll Mixed Up. Other additions to four pack include newcomers @jackjohnson with Banana Pancakes (A tasty breakfast), and @JamesBayMusic with the hit soft rock/soul single, Let It Go.

Variety Pack IX – $9.99 / Steam

Pfft… Who does this James Bay dude think he is, GOLDEN BOMBER?

You know for people that have been asking for a song to play at a campfire, here’s a perfect one to learn!

  1. Not ‘down’ for anything this week… but keeping my hopes up for my Djent pack thanks! lol
I do believe there is not 1 single Djent song in the catalogue yet.
Oh and a full Sevendust pack wouldn’t go astray…. If i had to settle for a Nu-Metal pack, I wouldn’t be butthurt! 😛

  2. I’m in for Joe Satriani and 311. Not a fan of Jack Johnson or James Bay, but I am glad to see more dlc from the last few years making it to the game. I guess its just harder to license stuff that’s been released within the last couple of years.

  3. I never understood satriani and his appeal. guitar instrumentals are rarely great mostly because they are performed by people who need the spotlight every second and can’t rest for one measure. The other songs are a good mix of styles and actually pleasant sounding

  4. Taking the full pack, just for Satriani, but pretty sure I’ll have fun with 311. The 2 others are a bonus, don’t know them but kinda liked what I heard, could be cool to play.

  5. I don’t know the word for this, but as an example, SNL has corrupted quite a few songs for me (VH-Beautiful Girls, BOC-Don’t Fear the Reaper, Loverboy-Working for the Weekend, Haddaway-What Is Love).

That 311 song also comes with an image. I can’t hear this song without having flashbacks of Carmen Electra dancing to it on MTV’s Singled Out.

  6. I’ve been sitting, waiting and wishing for some Jack Johnson, so the taste of “Banana Pancakes” will help hold me over until we get more.

  7. Pass, I actually don’t really like Joe Satriani, talented musician but never really got a spark from his songs.
I’m being very patient for a judas priest pack 2, electric eye on the 80s pack was great but would love another 5 pack.

    1. Totally agree with you in regards to Satriani. Jack Johnson is montone singing coma-inducing masterpiece. 311 is the only real choice for me here.

    2. I also agree… i’ve tried reasonably hard to like it too… just doesn’t work lol.
But i also don’t get this massive love for 311?… Must of been big in the US or something?… all we heard was ‘Down’ here in Australia… that’s it ay!

  8. Except for Satriani, I think this is a pass for me. I may consider the James Bay song mainly because my significant other might like it.
