It’s been a while since we got a new Rocksmith game, hasn’t it? Well, that looks like it’s all about to change soon. Sort of. Eagle-eyed Reddit user Sorkwelin discovered the image above on the Rocksmith website which looks to indicate that an updated version of Rocksmith 2014 is coming to current-gen consoles and PC.
This was officially confirmed later, along with some more details about what Rocksmith 2014 Remastered actually is. Let’s take a look at all the new information:
- Rocksmith 2014 Remastered is not a new Rocksmith game but rather a major update to Rocksmith 2014.
- If you already own Rocksmith 2014 on ANY platform (360 and PS3 included) you will recieve the update for free.
- The library sorting features are being updated with a new Search feature that will allow you to type in what you’re looking for in Learn a Song, Score Attack, and the Shop.
- Nonstop Play will now allow you to create custom playlists.
- Riff Repeater navigation has been made much smoother.
- You can now view all song arrangements in the new Song Hub meaning you don’t need to change paths anymore.
- Nonstop Play can now be filtered by tunings and you can switch arrangements between songs.
- The rate of Dynamic Difficulty can now be adjusted or removed altogether.
- You can view detailed in-game statistics about your playing.
In addition, six new songs will be available as part of Rocksmith 2014 Remastered. They are as follows:
- Bob Marley & the Wailers – Three Little Birds
- Elvis Presley – Suspicious Minds
- fun. – Some Nights
- The Jackson 5 – I Want You Back
- OutKast – Hey Ya!
- Train – Drops of Jupiter
If you’re buying the physical disc version of Rocksmith 2014 Remastered then you’ll receive a voucher to download these songs for free. If you’ve already purchased Rocksmith 2014 then these songs will be available to purchase the same week that Rocksmith 2014 Remastered is released in retail stores. Rocksmith 2014 Remastered is going to launch in October, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for when the update goes live!

So if we already have RS 2014 on ps4, will we get the update and songs for free?
No, you will get the patch for free, that’s it
kinda frustrating for us 360 owners
Why?
You can get the remastered disc with the dlc for Xbox 1, PS4, and PC, but not 360 or PS3
So buy it for $13.99 and download the free patch. Why do you want a new disc?
If only we could get October and September to trade places, just this once……..
Has anybody some info about a trem-bar feature? Some kind of indicator? I always wondered why there were only harmonics when the trem-bar was used.
So happy to see these much needed improvements and the DLC, with the exception of J5, is very solid. Thank you Rocksmith! Keep up the good work!
“With the exception of J5”? WHAT?!
Oh, PLEASE give us Elvis with THIS bass line!!!
Now that’s a killer bass line (and my favorite Elvis song) but I doubt we’ll see that version. I remember hearing somewhere that Elvis used to tell his bass players to “not play to many notes”. =
I find myself looping the Cover, above, while doing other things. I love it. And once I get the patterns down, I WILL duplicate.
When did Josh Homme dye his hair and start dressing funny? He needs to layoff the qualudes and get back to playing guitar.
Oh wow! Big free update and also some class songs… can’t wait! 😀
