Hello Rocksmith fans!

Welcome to the first DLC Round-Up of 2017!

We’ve had a great month filled with mega-ton artists like @U2 making their Rocksmith debut, @blink182 returning for the first time since 2012 with a 5 pack, a second dose of the 1960s, a seventh Variety Pack, and of course the return of @Evanescence with a 3 pack of songs!

Bassists definitely had some great material with songs like Sunday Bloody Sunday (U2), Somebody To Love (Jefferson Airplane), Feeling This (blink-182), Take The Power Back (Rage Against The Machine). and Going Under (Evanescence).

Tune to Drop D and strap on a Capo for this unexpectedly awesome bass line

If you don’t mind tuning to Eb Standard you too can play Adam Clayton’s legendary bass line

Don’t feel bad if you don’t sightread 100% this psychedelic rock opus, @Audrey123Talks is something else

A great intro to slapping courtesy of Tim Commerford

Fair bit of movement in this nu-metal bass line

There was nothing too shreddy this month but there were still some great tunes to play!

Put your strumming to the test, There’s no effects pedal for strumming 😉

@elisoncrz isn’t playing with a capo but we highly recommend you do! #Flutesmith

Tune down to D Standard to play this Pop-Punk masterpiece

Just a great song overall, how can you deny it?!

Looking for a solid Chord strummer with a fun arpeggiated riff? You’ll love Melt With You.

You want the Alt. Lead for this Post-Grunge hit

Simple power chords and an approachable solo, no drop tuning required!

UbisoftSF: What you want bro?

Me: I want to play an orchestral piano ballad on Guitar and Bass

UbisoftSF: I gotchu fam

January definitely had some extremely diverse tunings, and the debut of DADGAD finally in Everybody’s Fool. Also this may be the most capo arrangements we’ve had in sometime… Let’s check it out!

Arrangement E Standard Eb Standard Drop D D Standard DADGAD Capo
Lead 14 1 2 1  1 2
Rhythm 16 1 2 1  1 3
Bass 17 1  2 X X 1
Alt. Lead 5 X X X X 2
Alt. Rhythm X X X 1 X 1
Alt. Bass X 2 X X 1

Capo or not, E Standard still rules!

Which brings us to the question on everyone’s mind

See you next month!

  1. It’s been an interesting month, the song I had the most fun with was California Dreamin’, not by any means the most interesting or hardest, but sometimes ya just need to unwind and just have some fun.

  2. The whole month was really good, but having such a huge band as U2 was a great start for the year. It has my vote.

  3. As a 360 player, I was initially excited about the U2 pack but having to wait caused me to lose interest. The 60’s got my vote. Another song from “Fear and Loathing…” with Somebody to Love. I like Hi-Standard’s cover of California Dreamin’. It made me realize we need the riff repeater (game mode, not website) to allow us to increase speeds beyond the original, not just slow them. The Chipmunk vocals would be an added bonus.

  4. If it were a vote for best song, I’m still waving the Green Onions banner. As far as packs go, I liked the U2 pack.

      1. I wanted to. It lost out for only having 3 songs as opposed to U2’s 5. And that’s even with Green Onions getting 2 points from me.

  5. I have no vote. Nothing appealed to me enough to buy in January. That’s OK; I still have hundreds of songs to choose from, and sometimes feel overwhelmed by that anyway.

  6. All very good. U2 is my favorite though. Hope they get a 2nd pack! Need something from the Achtung Baby album in the game too.
