Rocksmith Unveils Huge Chunk of Setlist

We know you’re all just here for the Hero, but as we did with Power Gig (not that we want to curse Ubisoft by drawing comparisons to that atrocity), we’re featuring news for any instrument-based game that doesn’t fall under the magical umbrella of our pals over at RockBandAide.

Recently, we’ve been bringing you some news here and there about Ubisoft’s Rocksmith, which works with your current electric guitar, meaning you don’t have to go buy new plastic or “Pro” instruments in order to enjoy it to the fullest. If you don’t have a real guitar, however, then the game might end up being pricier than your typical Guitar Hero or Rock Band title.

Today, Ubisoft and the Rocksmith team revealed a huge list of tracks that will be appearing in the upcoming game. To be honest, the game features a decent amount of tracks that have appeared in an instrument-based game previously, but hopefully the game will utilize them in entirely new ways thanks to the reportedly intuitive instrument teaching mechanics. Even so, it seems as though Ubisoft went out of their way in some instances to get songs that haven’t yet appeared on Guitar Hero or Rock Band, such as The Pixies ”Where is My Mind” or Radiohead’s “High and Dry”

Check out the full list of what we know so far and let us know in the comments what you think about the setlist so far.
