Speculation: Rocksmith Newsletter hints at April 2019 DLC

Hello Rocksmith fans!

We got the newsletter, and with it comes three out of three hints for what awaits us this month for Rocksmith Remastered DLC!

Let’s see what UbiVertigo and @UbisoftStudioSF are hinting at for April shall we?

After we celebrate the end of our toil

There is a biblical application to this line, while it’s an exposition of John 21:4 it’s thematically related to the Resurrection which as you know, occurs in April…

Our poor work which He deigns to accept forms part of the feast which is spread at the end of our toil, when ‘there shall be no more sea.’ He adds the results of our toil to the feast which He has prepared. The consequences of what we have done here on earth make no small part of the blessedness of heaven.

No more sea?

John 21:4 = 2-1+4 = 5

Or something more surface level…

nah

@pcgamingisted is hoping for this

maybe?

things could get both dark

Good question…

Now it’s dark

?

?

and spooky

Marilyn Manson and The Spooky Kids… Time for this song to come to music games!

Right?

A single we were sorely missing from the 4 song pack.

nice meme

Bachsmith III?

Everytime I read about something being either dark or heavy I have my fingers crossed for Opeth. They deserve a pack and have some fantastic songs.

Ugh that makes me all the more anxious! And that is one of the songs we NEED if a pack ever happens.

Plenty of good albums to choose from but I could just settle for the entire Blackwater Park album.

Don’t know how much of a fan you are and how much you’ve listened to, but the first time I heard Opeth was Orchid. Which happens not only to be the most over looked album in their catalogue it’s probably the most unappreciated and underrated album they have. It’s almost not even an album technically. They did go into a studio to re-record, but their label owner had someone hand him a band rehearsal tape, not even a demo, band didn’t know about it. The guy knew he had to sign them and that became the album. That’s just legendary.

Also don’t know how much or what types of Euro metal bands you like Elliot or Cj but Emperor (fantastic live), Satyricon, Celtic Frost (amazing live), Samael, Hypocrisy, Red Harvest, Kovenant, Cathedral are just a few that are better than the average band. Oh and Godflesh and Killing Joke of course from Britain tons of bands wouldn’t be here or sound like they do without them. Nirvana, Fear Factory, Slipknot, Korn, Nine Inch Nails, Ministry, Faith No More. It’s a huge list just for those 2 alone.

I do know and love most of those bands. I could never really get into Killing Joke. Too punk for me possibly, I have trouble getting into a lot of punk. Obviously I understand and respect their influence but I just can’t get into them.

No ones going to ever like everything. But some off the wall people you wouldn’t guess like Bowie liked them and they influenced Metallica. There are sub genres people attribute to them as well. They definitely cover a lot of ground and some of the albums or song can be different if not even unique to their catalogue. While still sounding like the same band. JImmy page called Geordie the best guitarist alive. He’s a big fan. If I knew your taste i might know what to try to recommend. But there is stuff i cant get into that baffles people. However just as middle ground, one of their most consistent albums is the second self titled. Dave Grohl does all the drums. Definitely on the short list of best things he’s ever done. I think the only singles were seeing red and loose cannon (always liked that one), some of the albums are more tribal or have trance elements (one of the two Paul’s who plays bass for them is one of the guys in orb), their first song was dub. There’s a bit of a lot of stuff digging through there. They aren’t publicly well known but they are A major bands band and musician band, excellent live but the shows can be very different. Like the energy changes. Geordie trips me out, I’ve seen him play easily over ten hours live and he just smokes cigarettes and I don’t think I’ve seen him once look at his guitar while playing. He also once recorded an album with faith no more, decided he wanted to leave, their like just one more thing, he went into the control room deleted every track he recorded, told them to f@ck off, left and returned the check for 6 figures (I heard… Read more »

I saw them 12-15 years ago. Think it was the same year I saw Celtic Frost. They both played HoB Sunset Strip. Two of the best shows of the year and that I’ve seen. Both are better live.

The clues are super vague and could encompass entire sub genres really. That aside and leaving out my many hopes

Solitaire unraveling and sun doesn’t rise are definitely in my top 5 if not 3 for mushroomhead.

Slipknot would depend on my mood but they are great guys, gematria (the killing name), & psychosocial are on my short list but the Iowa album is still their pinnacle. A whole pack from there would be awesome.

Royal Blood and Alexisonfire would be epic! More Ghost wouldn’t go amiss either 🙂

I’m hoping either dark or spooky is a reference to Type O Negative -- Black No. 1. An entire Type-O Pack would be even better.

For the toil hint, maybe Spirit in the Sky by Norman Greenbaum? I think odds are good that it will be in Rocksmith someday.
Longer shot: something from Jesus Christ Superstar.
