Hello Rocksmth fans!
Welcome to the September DLC Round-Up!
Before we get to September, let’s take a look at who you voted for as Best DLC of August 2018!
Greta Van Fleet decimated the competition with it’s 70s sound, while the return of Blues tantalized our readers. Variety Pack XVII trailed slightly behind leaving the post-hardcore emo Canadians firmly in the dust… Ooof
September delivered some interesting content!
We started off with a pack from @kelly_clarkson, followed by the fifth 90s Mix Pack featuring bands like @chickenfootjoe, @typeonegative, and @Helmetmusic. Next up another previous single got a pack with @stonesour, and finally to end the month we stayed firmly in the 2010s with singles from @coldplay, @ElleKingMusic, and @TheWarOnDrugs!
Let’s see the tunes bassists had to conquer this month!
Because it’s a fun one, and also because of @pcgamingisted’s editing skills
Super simple yet incredibly satisfying
Ooof those chords… Goth Bassists rise up!
If you don’t mind tuning down to C# Standard the bass lines in this pack are definitely worth checking out!
You know your toe is tapping right now!
Heard you like sliding!
Bassists can’t have all the fun, what was on the docket for guitarists?
?B A N G E R – A L E R T?
It’s Satch, but it’s not an insanely difficult one
The song is 9 Minutes and delivers distinct sections filled with memorable riffs, melody, and arpeggios. B Standard though…
A pretty straight forward radio friendly song that we’re sure you will enjoy in C# Standard
Another fine solo by Jim Root
that fuzz tone!
time for that Capo again!
This month we definitely had some variety when it comes to tunings, let’s see the breakdown!
Arrangement | E Standard | Eb Standard | Drop D | C# Standard | B Standard | Capo |
Lead | 5 | 1 | 1 | 2 | 1 | 2 |
Rhythm | 5 | 1 | 1 | 2 | 1 | 2 |
Bass | 8 | 1 | 1 | 2 | X | X |
Alt. Lead | 1 | X | X | X | X | X |
E Standard wins again!
Which brings us to the question on everyone’s mind…
See you on Friday!

Pretty much sums the month up for me when Kelly Clarkson gets the vote from me……..
Well, it’s a great pack 🙂
Personally I had to give my note to Type O Negative, super enjoyable even though the bass part is painful
I skipped this whole month, but I guess the 90’s mix wins by the edge of Helmet. I just don’t end up playing drop D songs much. October is off to a good start with JD, though.
Honestly this month was pretty weak for me. I didn’t buy a single DLC. If I had to choose I would probably go for Stone Sour.
Well we are going to have to see how the #s shake out, since this just went up but wow. I know the 2010 mix was terrible but not bad enough I ever thought kelly might beat it. Looks like the only packs worth mentioning are probably going to be safe though.
Looks like the predictions for August were correct. Wondering if GVF and Blues II will be the ones to beat at the year-end-polls.
I think you mean *”before we get to September”
You’re right, I did
